No sales tax

To the editor:

I see that our school board is considering asking for a sales tax increase. They choose this in order to exploit stupidity: I must be paying less if I pay it in little chunks. I cannot support a sales tax increase. This is a regressive tax, which hurts low-income people.

Leonard Ortiz has pointed out the millions that would be saved if Centennial School were used rather than remodel Cordley. Board president Austin Turney said, “I can’t see it.”

We knew that.

More money for schools? Not from a sales tax. Not with present management.
