The following events and construction projects may affect commuter traffic in the region this week:

Interstate 70 from the Shawnee/Wabaunsee County line to Valencia Road interchange, traffic restricted and eastbound Exit 347 ramp closed for road reconstruction.

Interstate 470 at Huntoon Street, eastbound exit ramp closed for turning lane reconstruction. Detour posted.

Interstate 70 from the Polk/Quincy viaduct to Rice Road, traffic reduced to one lane in each direction during nonrush hours for sealing, patching and striping.

U.S. Highway 24 from Jefferson County to the U.S. Highway 40 junction, traffic controlled by flaggers and pilot car for milling and overlay. Delays up to 15 minutes are expected, and the public is advised to take alternate routes.

Kansas Highway 10 from Evening Star Road to Cedar Creek Parkway, westbound traffic reduced to one lane; K-10 from Lexington Avenue to Cedar Creek Parkway, eastbound traffic reduced to one lane for bridge repair.

I-70 at Interstate 635, traffic placed on existing westbound lanes for road reconstruction. I-635 between Metropolitan Avenue and Parallel Parkway, traffic placed on existing southbound lanes for road reconstruction. Several associated ramps closed.

Interstate 35 from I-635/U.S. Highway 69 interchange to Lamar Avenue, traffic reduced to one lane between 8 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday for sealing, patching and striping.

Sixth Street at Lawrence Avenue, westbound traffic reduced to one lane for intersection improvements.

Steven Drive from Lawrence Avenue to Wellington Road, traffic interruptions for milling and overlay.

Ninth Street from Rockledge Road to Iowa Street and Rockledge Road from Ninth Street to Yale Road, interruptions for milling and overlay.

Eighth Street from Kentucky to New Hampshire streets, traffic interruptions for milling and overlay.

11th Street from Haskell Avenue to the railroad tracks, closed for road improvements.

Kingsmill Road from Burning Tree Court to Foxfire Drive, traffic interruptions for milling and overlay.

Wakarusa Drive at 16th Street, southbound traffic reduced to one lane for road improvements.
