Jack Mangas

? Graveside services for Jack Mangas, 78, Shawnee, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor.

Mr. Mangas died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Union City, Ind., the son of Ezra and Minnie (Miller) Mangas.

Mr. Mangas was a millwright and belonged to Carpenter and Millwright Local No. 1529 in Kansas City, Mo. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Monticello United Methodist Church in Shawnee.

He married Cecil Sedgwick in 1946 in Tonganoxie. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include six daughters, Mary Kay McCrocklin, Anderson, Ind., Jackie Marie Stark and Mildred Marie Mangas, both of Bonner Springs, Donnie Marie Brown, Highlandville, Mo., Anna Marie Servos, Kansas City, Kan., and Edna Marie Hursey, Paola; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
