Josephine A. Scully

Topeka — Services for Josephine A. Scully, 70, Perry, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Chapel, Topeka. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry.

Mrs. Scully died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at her home.

She was born May 12, 1933, in Lawrence, the daughter of Walter and Katherine Hooper Tornedon.

Mrs. Scully worked for Hamm Quarries as a scale operator and dispatcher for 15 years before retiring. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Scully lived in Perry for 43 years.

She married Robert L. Scully on Dec. 31, 1953, in Topeka. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Roxanne Anderson, Larned; a son, Roscoe Scully, Perry; a brother, Jack Tornedon, Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Bertha Lehney, Topeka; and five grandchildren.

A son, Rodney Lee Scully, died earlier.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday at the mortuary, where family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 N.W. Rochester Road, Topeka.
