Topeka tops LHS soccer

? Lawrence High’s soccer team fell to Topeka High, 4-0, Thursday night.

Jono Gittins and Adam Renfro were cited for outstanding midfield play. The Lions trailed 1-0 at halftime, Topeka scoring with 30 seconds left before the break.

“We were defending well, possessing well, just not getting good looks,” LHS coach David Platt said. “They had a pretty good defense. They were forcing us to the outside. Anytime we made an attack, they did a good job of taking those routes away.”

The Lions (0-8-1) will meet Olathe Northwest Tuesday in Olathe.
