Topekan in Air Force dies in burning car

? A body found in a burning car was identified Tuesday as a Kansas man.

Eric Jenkins, 26, of Topeka, Kan., died Sunday in what the Page County sheriff’s office said was a fire that followed a one-vehicle accident near Braddyville, about 60 miles southeast of Council Bluffs, near the Missouri border.

Jenkins’ body was found in the car after firefighters extinguished the flames, the sheriff’s office said.

He was in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.

An autopsy was conducted by the Douglas County, Neb., medical examiner.
