KU student group collecting for food drive

The Black Law Students Assn. at Kansas University is sponsoring its 13th annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

The students are collecting canned goods, nonperishable foods, gift certificates and food preparation items that will be distributed to several local agencies, including Salvation Army, Pelathe Community Resource Center and First Step House.

Last year, the students collected enough food to feed about 1,500 people.

Food items may be dropped off at the grocery carts at the entrance of Green Hall, 1535 W. 15th St. Money and gift certificates can be delivered to Robin Miller in Room 202 Green Hall. BLSA members also can be contacted to pick up items by calling Misikir Tilahun at 864-9277 or e-mailing mtilahun77@yahoo.com.

The deadline for donations is 5 p.m. Nov. 21.
