Wingert services

Services for Melissa Anne Wingert, 29, Lecompton, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Pleasant Grove community south of Lawrence.

Mrs. Wingert died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at her home. She had cancer.

She was born March 27, 1974, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Allan B. and Patricia Meyers Dalton. She had lived in the Lecompton area since 1978. She graduated from Perry-Lecompton High School in 1992 and had been a member of the Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club.

Mrs. Wingert worked in insurance billing for TherapyWorks. She attended First Southern Baptist Church.

She married Kent A. Wingert on Oct. 29, 1994, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Blake Dean Wingert and Colton Reid Wingert, both of the home; her parents, rural Lawrence; a brother, Adam Dalton, Lawrence; two sisters, Jennifer Kibbee, Lawrence, and Gwendolyn Craig, Baldwin; and her grandmother, Burch B. Higgins, Lecompton.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at Lawrence Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

The family suggests memorials to Wingert Children’s Trust Fund, sent in care of People’s Bank; or to Douglas County Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
