Morgan-McCraney Low: Pat McCraney and Steve Morgan shot 135 and won last Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club two-man best-ball tournament at Alvamar. Joe Calandrino and Steve Huffman also shot 135 but lost the playoff. Gary Hamm and Kirk Schneider were third at 139, and the team of Jeff Miller and Jay Patterson earned fourth at 141.

  • Free State Meeting: An informational meeting for parents of Free State High winter sports athletes will be at 5 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Free State gym. For more information, call Steve Grant at 832-6050.

  • Humana Winners: Lawrence’s Chase Edgerton, David Roberts and Dee Boeck were age-group winners in Saturday’s Humana Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5K in Kansas City, Mo. Edgerton and Roberts were in the 5K; Boeck in the half-marathon. In the marathon, Lawrence’s Cheryl Miller Balster was second in her age group, and Palomo Soria and Richard Frienser were third. In the overall male 5K placings, Lawrence’s Christophe Schroeder and Rob Rosasra were second and third.

  • Free State Baseball: All incoming freshman interested in Free State High’s baseball program and their parents are invited to an sign-up meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the FSHS gym. For information, call Mike Hill at 832-6050.

  • Aquahawks Gold: Alex Brunfeldt of the Lawrence Aquahawks won four gold medals at a triangular swim meet last weekend in Wichita. Teammate Jill Courtney pocketed two golds, and Anthony Portela and Tyler Schmidt had one apiece. Courtney and Schmidt also earned a pair of silver medals apiece. Katie Swank and Portela also had second-place finishes. Courtney, Portela and Matthew Yip collected two bronze medals apiece. Other thirds went to Chris Sellon, Ashley Jackson, Lauren Pipkin, Chris Wolff and Swank.
