Julee Christy

Mrs. Christy died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at a hospital in Houston. She had cancer.

She was born Jan. 12, 1953, in Hays, the daughter of R.J. and Alice Lightfoot McClay. She grew up in the Wichita area. She graduated from Wichita East High School in 1971 and from Butler County Junior College in El Dorado. She also attended Dallas Christian College from 1976 to 1977 and studied ministry. She lived in Perry from 1980 to 1982.

Mrs. Christy and her husband were house parents for Alpha Christian Children’s Home while in Perry. They were members of Perry Christian Church. She worked in accounting for many years and was manager of the copy/print center for Office Depot in Sugar Land for the past four years. She was a foster parent for numerous children.

She married Jack Christy on Nov. 19, 1977, in Bellaire, Texas. He survives, of Sugar Land.

Other survivors include her father, Stafford, Texas; and three sisters, Cheryl McFarland, Houston, Flora Chaka, Stafford, Texas, and Janet Folino, Dragoon, Ariz.
