Martha Frances Edwards

Mclouth ? Services for Martha Frances Edwards, 89, McLouth, will be later in Hinton, Okla.

She died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at her home.

She was born June 30, 1914, in Oney, Okla., the daughter of Elmer and Artier (Lovely) Compton.

Mrs. Edwards lived in Hinton, Okla., until 2001, when she moved to Lawrence. She lived at Brandon Woods Retirement Community for a short while, then with her daughter.

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Hinton.

She married Clyde Edwards on Nov. 4, 1933, in Caddo County, Okla. He died earlier. A daughter, Mary Ann Edwards, also died earlier.

Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Hamilton, McLouth, and Geneile Cole, San Diego; a brother, Orra Compton, Oklahoma City; two sisters, Zella Mae Stuart, Vancouver, Wash., and Alice Marie Stevens, Niland, Calif.; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Southern Baptist Children’s Home or Feed the Children, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
