Huskers lead regional field

? Nebraska claimed four of the 10 individual titles decided Friday in the NCAA Midwest Regional track and field championships.

Nebraska led the women’s competition after the first day with 40 points. Texas A&M was second (19), followed by Kansas State (16) and Rice (16).

Colorado State was the men’s leader with 21 points, followed by Texas Tech (19), Colorado (17), and Texas El-Paso (16).

Nebraska’s Christi Lehman cleared a school-record 13-2 to win the pole vault.

Becky Breisch claimed the shot put for the Husker women with a toss of 57-6.

Ineta Radevica also claimed a title for Nebraska, leaping 21-7.25 in the long jump.
