FCE & 4-H news

Douglas County Family and Community Education in cooperation with K-State Research & Extension Family and Consumer Sciences is offering a program on how to make a “Fabric Coil Basket” at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Deal Six Auditorium at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St.

Connie Walter will be the presenter. The cost is $4 per person for supplies.

To register, call the Extension Office at 843-7058. The program is free and open to the public.

Stull FCE will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hy-Vee Food Store, 4000 W. Sixth St. The lesson will be “Everyday Heroes.”

The Eudora 4-H Club met May 4 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds after picking up trash and eating pizza.

Ashley Moran gave a presentation on how to tie-dye using Kool-Aid. Ann Heschmeyer shared some of the techniques she uses to help make her baby-sitting jobs easier. Tim Moran talked about his woodworking project.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Church of Christ. The junior club officers will conduct the meeting.
