Injury accidents

• A 24-year-old Lawrence man suffered injuries in a one-car accident early Sunday morning.

Shane W. Petty was driving north on Kasold Drive near Creekwood Drive when his 1995 Mitsubishi left the road, hit an embankment, rolled and returned to the roadway.

Emergency crews took him to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for injuries.

• A 41-year-old Lawrence woman suffered injuries in a two-car accident about 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Lana R. Hayes was driving her 1995 Saturn south on Iowa Street near Yale Road when Matthew S. Rosenthal, 20, Overland Park, turned in front of her.

Rosenthal was trying to turn his Chrysler north onto Iowa from a parking lot on the west side of the road. Police cited him for failure to yield.

An ambulance took Hayes to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment.

• Two Lawrence women were taken Monday afternoon to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 40 at Douglas Country Road 9 west of Lawrence, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Treated and released were Melanie L. Cohavi, 31, and Kris L. Johnson, 54.

They were in a 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Cohavi when it was struck from behind by a 1995 Chevrolet car driven by Spring K. Suptic, 23, Kansas City, Kan. The truck was eastbound on U.S. 40 waiting to turn north on County Road 9, the Highway Patrol said.

A 3-year-old boy and an 11-month old boy in the truck were not hurt.
