Procession to kick off ceremony

Kansas University will conduct its 131st commencement ceremony Sunday at Memorial Stadium.

The procession of graduates into the stadium begins at 2:30 p.m., with the ceremony set to begin around 3:30. It is expected to be complete by 4:15 p.m.

Parking

Free parking is available throughout campus. Shuttle buses to and from the stadium will run from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with stops at the Kansas Union, Jayhawk Boulevard, Murphy Hall, the south parking garage near Allen Fieldhouse, Burge Union, Daisy Hill and the Lied Center.

Handicap accessibility

Handicap parking and drop-off areas are on the west side of the stadium, accessible from 11th and Maine streets, and on the east side at 11th and Mississippi streets. Seating for people with disabilities is available through Gate C.

Sign-language interpreters and reserved seating for people using interpreter services will be available in Sections 25 and 26, Rows 29-33.

Accommodations

Seatback rental and concessions will be available at Memorial Stadium beginning at 1 p.m. Restrooms are available on the concourse level.

Weather contingency

If it is raining Sunday morning, an announcement will be made by 1 p.m. about arrangements for the postponed ceremony. Announcements will be made through KU Info (864-3506), on Sunflower Broadband Channel 6 and on radio stations.

Simulcast

The ceremony will be simulcast live on a big-screen television in Woodruff Auditorium, on the fifth floor of the Kansas Union.

Television

The ceremony will be shown live on Sunflower Broadband Channel 6. It will be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday on KUJH, Sunflower Broadband Channel 66.

The ceremony also can be viewed live on the Internet at www.digitaljayhawk.org.

Video board

The procession and ceremony will be shown on the large video board at Memorial Stadium.
