Anaheim, Calif. ? Minnesota needs to start looking at Anaheim’s Jean-Sebastien Giguere the same way they view any other goaltender.

So far, that hasn’t been easy.

As the Mighty Ducks continue to cruise in the playoffs and Giguere keeps the zero lit on the other side of the scoreboard, he — and his pads — appear to loom ever larger as pucks plop into his glove and bounce off his body, stick and skates.

“I honestly think we are thinking too much about the goalie and not enough about ourselves,” Andrew Brunette said. “We can’t worry about him. We’ve just got to treat him like any other goalie.

“We’ve been getting frustrated, haven’t been patient. One goal would do a world of good for this hockey club right now.”

Giguere extended his sensational run by shutting out Minnesota twice to help the Ducks to a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals. Anaheim, which beat the Wild, 1-0, in the second overtime of Game 1, won the second game, 2-0.

The series resumes tonight in Anaheim.

The Anaheim goalie has stopped all 63 Minnesota shots and hasn’t allowed a goal in a span of 153 minutes, 17 seconds. Giguere hasn’t been scored on since the third period of Anaheim’s clincher over Dallas.
