FCE and 4-H news

Kanwaka FCE will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Margaret Wulfkuhle. Jean Etherton will give the lesson on “Everyday Heroes.”

The Four Leaf Clover 4-H Club met April 14. Members answered roll call by saying their names in Pig Latin. Members signed up to work in the concession stand at the Swap Meet and to donate $10 or two pies. Members also signed up to work at the Douglas County Free Fair concession stand. The junior leadership group gave a talk on local government. The senior leadership group gave a talk on judging.

For recreation, members judged projects set up by the senior leadership group.

The next meeting will be at 7:15 p.m. Monday at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club met April 14 at the Stull United Methodist Church. Junior officers conducted the meeting, which was called to order by Jake Hetrick, junior president.

Members enrolled in the citizenship project announced that they needed help with a community service project. They will be collecting items for the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Pediatric Unit from fellow 4-Hers and Lecompton Elementary School.

The program was provided by 4-Her’s enrolled in the rabbit, crochet and plant science projects.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday. It will be an exchange meeting with the Lonestar 4-H Club.
