Thomas B. Wichman

? Mass of Christian burial for Thomas B. Wichman, 86, Seneca, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wichman died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Hiawatha Community Hospital.

He was born Jan. 30, 1917, on a farm east of Seneca, the son of Louis and Mary (Carlin) Wichman. He attended Victory School and Saints Peter and Paul School. He moved to Seneca in 1958.

Mr. Wichman worked on the family farm and took over his father’s corn-shelling business. He shelled corn for 35 years for Raymond Russell at the Oneida Elevator and other farmers in the area. He retired from farming in 1977. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus No. 1769 for more than 50 years.

Survivors include three brothers, Raymond and Glenn, both of Seneca, and Harold, Litchfield Park, Ariz.; and three sisters, Lucille Lierz, Seneca, Ellen Ramsey, Portland, Ore., and Audrey Luckeroth, Lawrence.

A rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
