LHS softball splits

? Lawrence High’s softball team split a doubleheader with Olathe North Monday, losing the first game, 1-0 in eight innings, but winning the second, 3-0.

The Lions (7-7) were held to just three hits in the first game, but responded with twice as many in the second game, and, more importantly, came through with hits when they needed.

“I told them you can’t win many games with three hits,” LHS coach Reenie Stogsdill said.

LHS will play its final home game at 4:15 p.m. Thursday at Holcom against the Sunflower League’s top team, Shawnee Mission Northwest.
