Odell-Zell

Teresa Odell, Lawrence, and James and Kathy Zell, New Strawn, announce the engagement of their children Lori Dawn Odell and Devin Thomas Zell, both of Lawrence.

The future bride is a 1998 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is a senior at Kansas University. She is a supervisor for the Energy Balance Laboratory at KU.

The future groom is a 1996 graduate of Burlington High School. He is a 2000 graduate of KU. He is advertising and promotions manager at MartinLogan Ltd.

The couple plan an Aug. 9 wedding at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lawrence.


Maykulsky-Williams

Jennifer Dene Maykulsky and John Allen Williams, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Vicki Maykulsky, Lawrence. She is a 1998 graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned an associate's degree from Coffeyville Community College. She is working as a special education paraeducator in the Lawrence School District. She is head coach of the Free State High School junior varsity softball team.

The future groom is the son of Mildred Shriner, Lawrence, and John D. Williams, Overland Park. He is a 1998 graduate of Lawrence High School. He earned an associate's degree from Johnson County Community College. He is a juvenile corrections officer and is the lead teacher at Pinckney School's Boys and Girls Club.

The couple plan a May 31 wedding.

Richardson-Vigna

Richard and Sandy Vigna, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their son Andrew James Vigna to Diane Elizabeth Richardson, both of Lawrence.

The future groom is a graduate of Lawrence High School. He attended Kansas University. He is employed by Stoneback Appliance Inc.

The future bride is the daughter of Wayne and Ida Sundling, Branson, Mo. She graduated from Wichita Heights High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Wichita State University.

The couple plan a June 28 wedding at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.

Kevin and Belinda Brown, Glen Ellyn, Ill.; John and Valerie Fittell, Lawrence, and Frank and Sally Salb, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their children Carlyle Brown and Justin Salb, both of Emporia.

The future bride graduated from Lawrence High School. She plans to attend Emporia State University this fall. She is employed at Montana Mike's in Emporia.

The future groom is a Lawrence High School graduate. He is attending Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia. He is employed by Salb Construction Inc.

The couple plan a June 6 wedding at South Park in Lawrence.

McClanahan-Wonnell

Alan and Lisa McClanahan, Olathe; Jim Wonnell, Oskaloosa, and Cheryl Wonnell, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their children Sarah McClanahan and Rob Wonnell, both of Olathe.

The future groom is a graduate of McLouth High School. He is a 1998 graduate of Phillips University in Enid, Okla., and a 2001 graduate of Kansas University's School of Law. He is an attorney with McAnany, Van Cleave and Phillips, P.A. in Kansas City.

Rhonda Givens, Lawrence, and Jeffrey Felix, Overland Park, announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Robert and Jean Givens, Lawrence. She is a Lyons High School graduate. She is employed by the Lawrence Journal-World.

The future groom is the son of Jean Johnson, Overland Park, and Oscar Felix. He graduated from Chapparal High School, Las Vegas, and Las Vegas Community College. He works at The New Theatre in Overland Park.

The couple plan a July 19 wedding at Hillcrest Covenant Church in Prairie Village.

Erin Kessler and Preston Girard, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Chuck Kessler and Holly Weindorf, Northbrook, Ill., and George and Beverly Auer, Cary, Ill. She graduated in 1991 from high school in Chicago. She received a bachelor's degree in theater arts in 1996 from Kansas University. She is a paraprofessional at Langston Hughes School and teaches art at the Lawrence Arts Center.

The future groom is the son of James and Barbara Girard, Lawrence. He is a 1988 graduate of Newton High School. He received a degree in journalism and history in 1992 from KU. He is a paralegal and office manager at ABS Legal Services, LLC in Lawrence.

The couple plan a May 10 wedding in Lawrence.

Schmidt-Howarter

Stephani Erin Schmidt and Dr. Mark Howarter, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Gary and Diane Schmidt, Excelsior Springs, Mo. She is a graduate of Excelsior Springs High School and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Northwest Missouri State University. She plans to receive a master's degree in psychology from Kansas University in May.

The future groom is the son of Jerry and Pamela Howarter, Garnett. He is a graduate of Anderson County High School, Emporia State University and Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Mo. He operates his own family chiropractic practice, The Chiropractic Experience, in Lawrence.

The couple plan a June 21 wedding at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kearney, Mo.

Yoder-Shear
