Strings of war

To the editor:

Bush’s 12-years-in-the-making war doctrine, whose authors include the likes of Richard Perle, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Lewis Libby, Douglas Feith and Bill Kristol, is yet another example of deceiving the American people into backing an ill-conceived and micromanaged war (ala Robert McNamara). The predictably disastrous results of such a policy are another lesson our leaders have failed to learn from history. I’m sure in their minds it would be arrogant for the American people to assume that we have a right to know exactly who is releasing the dogs of war. Nevertheless, it is quite apparent who is pulling the strings in the Bush administration when one learns that Perle and Wolfie are now regulars in Cabinet meetings.
