Venture Crew 2691, chartered to the Wesleyan Church of Lawrence, went rappelling March 15 at Camp Naish. Those who attended were Jack Berkowitz, Justin Deaver, Will Sharp, Tristan Wagner and Clarissa Wagner. Adults who accompanied them were Glen Sharp, crew adviser, Bruce Wagner and Wayne Deaver.

Junior Girl Scout Troop 611 sponsored a Girl Scout Week celebration March 13 for Scouts from Broken Arrow School. The Scouts shared their favorite Girl Scout activities, sang songs, ate birthday cake and participated in a service project.

The troop created four “Birthday in a Bag” kits that included items for a child’s birthday party. The kits will be donated to Penn House.

Troops that participated were Brownie Girl Scout Troops 642, 675 and 697, and Junior Girl Scout Troops 581, 611 and 621. There were 47 Girl Scouts present.

Leaders who helped were Mary Whitaker Davidson, Colleen Hyser, Lissa Revenew, Terrie Summers, Janet Pennybaker, Debby McNemee, Janice Griffin, Chris Blanchard and Sara Kyriakos.
