Hot Jayhawks traveling to SW Missouri State

? Kansas University’s baseball team, fresh off a series victory over Oral Roberts, will face another strong non-conference opponent today in Southwest Missouri State.

Game time is 3 p.m. at Price Cutter Park.

SMS (9-5) participated in NCAA Regional action last year and finished with a 43-21 overall record, including two victories against Kansas.

Kansas (18-6), despite winning two of three from a traditionally strong Oral Roberts squad during the weekend, slipped two spots to No. 19 in the Collegiate Baseball poll. However, only two Big 12 teams rank ahead of the Jayhawks — No. 8 Baylor and No. 10 Texas.

KU ranks No. 23 in the Baseball America poll.

After today’s game, KU will return home Wednesday to play an NAIA opponent. Tabor College was added to the schedule Monday.

The first pitch will be 4 p.m. at Hoglund Ballpark.

Kansas will start Big 12 Conference play this weekend at Missouri. KU will play single games in Columbia Friday night and Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
