Organization honors KU chemistry professor

A Kansas University professor has been selected for honorary induction to the Chemical Society of Japan.

Daryle Busch, professor of chemistry, will be one of six scientists inducted during a ceremony Tuesday in Tokyo.

Busch, who served in Japan during World War II, has returned to the country many times as a scientist and teacher. His research focuses on “green chemistry,” including developing a carbon dioxide-based solvent that cuts down on both pollution and costs.

Busch also was president of the American Chemical Society in 2000.
