KU students serve as mentors for leadership team

Training Leaders for the Community employs Kansas University students to serve as mentors who give presentations, act as a resource for information and are available to answer questions.

The mentors have office hours in the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center, 1631 Crescent Road.

But the TLC program has no religious affiliation. It’s funded by a five-year grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

TLC isn’t a part of the official curriculum of Lawrence public schools, but teachers in the district are free to invite TLC mentors to visit some classes — like health — and talk to students.
