Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 27-year-old female employee of U.S. Bank reported Thursday that $2,000 had been embezzled from the bank’s branch at 847 Tenn., according to a Lawrence Police report. The report stated that the theft occurred at 5:57 p.m. Jan. 9.

Condition reports

  • A Missouri man injured March 1 in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 59 died late last week at St. Joseph Health Center, Kansas City, Mo. The hospital was unable to provide the date of death for Colt S. Daniels, 18, Long Lane, Mo. The accident, which also killed Baldwin resident Jeannie Eye, occurred near the Douglas-Franklin county line.
  • Danielle Y. Eye, 11, Baldwin, is in fair condition at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. She also was injured in the collision March 1 near the Franklin County line that killed her mother, Jeannie Eye.
