Julia Mae ‘Judy’ Hadl

Mrs. Hadl died Friday, March 7, 2003, at KU Med in Kansas City, Kan. She suffered injuries in a car accident March 1.

She was born July 5, 1922, in California. Her guardians were Harry and Lola Craig.

Mrs. Hadl graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence. She worked as a secretary for Dr. W. W. Wempe and for Heinrich Floor Covering for many years and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.

She married Jess W. Hadl on Aug. 12, 1939, in Lawrence. He died in April 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Carole Hadl, Lawrence; a son, John Hadl, Lawrence; a brother, Bill Dasbach, Lakewood, Colo.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. or Doyle Schick Athletic Scholarship at the Kansas University Williams Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
