To the editor:

I think sexism is wrong! I always hear people say that women can’t play football because it’s a men’s sport. Or men can’t dance or do ballet because they’re afraid what their friends will think. Well, I think that’s wrong!

Some say you need to be a man to become a fireman. That’s not just a man’s job; there are a lot of women who are firemen these days. Others say men can’t do any of the cooking or sewing, just leave that to the women. But that’s not true either. There are a lot of men who cook, clean and even sew. Even in sports like basketball, both men and women play. Some people just don’t believe that women are as highly athletic as men.

For the most part, America has become less of a sexist society. There are still some sexist people out there who still hold to the old world ways.
