Kansas State wins ninth straight, 67-59 at Colorado

? Megan Mahoney had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Nicole Ohlde added 17 points as No. 5 Kansas State beat Colorado, 67-59, Saturday night.

Mahoney was 10-for-14 from the field en route to her fourth straight double-double. Ohlde, who scored seven points in the final minute, also had 17 rebounds for Kansas State (27-2 overall, 14-1 Big 12 Conference).

It was Kansas State’s ninth straight victory. The Wildcats beat Colorado, 61-36, Jan. 11.

Tera Bjorklund had 24 points, 20 in the second half, and seven rebounds for Colorado (20-6, 10-5). Sabrina Scott had 14 points, including 2-of-5 on three-pointers.

Kansas State broke it open seven minutes into the second half when Laurie Koehn hit two straight three-pointers, and Mahoney added a third to put the Wildcats ahead 42-33.

After Ohlde’s driving layup made it 62-57, Bjorklund cut it to 62-59 with 41 seconds left. Ohlde responded with a three-point play and hit two free throws with 14 seconds left.

Oklahoma 71, Oklahoma State 57

Stillwater, Okla. — Chelsi Welch scored 18 points to lead Oklahoma to a bedlam victory over Oklahoma State.

Welch added two rebounds and two assists for the Sooners (18-10, 9-6 Big 12 Conference), who shot 53 percent from the field and hit 13 of 18 free throws.

Beky Preston scored 13 points and 10 rebounds for OU, while Theresa Schuknecht had 12 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.

OSU (7-19, 3-12) stumbled offensively in the first half, hitting only eight of 34 shots (23 percent) from the field.
