Cub Scout Pack 3055, chartered to the Westside Presbyterian Church, recently had its annual Blue & Gold Banquet.

Gavin Spence, Donovan Ellis, James Lindsey, Sam Pyle, John Ross and Tony Whitaker advanced to Tiger Cub. Reuben James, Nick Pellett, Sawyer Zook, Seth Holiday, Geoffrey Pate, Korey Robinson, Caleb Bond and Travis Gomel advanced to Bear Cub. David Lawrence, Nicholas Haley, Elliot Johnson, Walker Lindsey, Cameron Howard, Justin Robertson, Steven Dalager, Tyler Hunsacker and Ian Simmons became First-Year Webelos.

Connor Kring, Christopher Grolock and James Murphy completed their Cub Scout careers. James Murphy was bridged into Boy Scout Troop 52.

Cub Scout Pack 3462, chartered to Langston Hughes School, had its second annual Blue & Gold Banquet Feb. 21 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

The Arrow of Light, the highest award in Cub Scouting, was presented to Alek Joyce and Dylan Lathrom. Alek was bridged into Boy Scout Troop 52.

Curtis Harris, district executive, made a presentation for Friends of Scouting. About 150 people attended the event.

Boy Scout Troop 52, chartered to the First United Methodist Church, went skiing Feb. 14-15 in Weston, Mo. Scouts who attended were Stuart Gilreath, Philip Gilreath, Todd Roberts, Dom Reiske, Micheal Smith, Brandon Mailand, Henry Hodges, Tim Barta, Charlie Turner, Andres Ramos, Evan Tedlock, Justin Deaver, Evan Cloar, Steve Wilson, Justin Wellman, Henry Reiske, Mason McCurdy, Will Sharp and Raymond Wellman. They were accompanied by Wayne Deaver, Sue Reiske, Tammy Barta, Amy Wellman, Harry Smith, Chuck Gilreath, Rowley Tedlock, David Hodges, Mary Hodges, Glen Sharp, Nancy Wilson, Pat Deaver, Rod Zinn and Jason Wingerson.

Troop members helped with a Sweetheart Gala Feb. 15 that was sponsored by First United Methodist Church. The boys waited on tables and helped with setup and cleanup. Scouts who participated were Philip Gilreath, Brandon Mailand, Tim Barta, Andres Ramos, Evan Tedlock, Justin Deaver, Steve Wilson, Charlie Turner, David Ohlhausen, Justin Wellman and Jesse Walburn. They were accompanied by Wayne Deaver, Tammy Barta, Nancy Wilson, Mike McCurdy and Ralena McCurdy.

The Troop attended Scout Sunday Feb. 9 at First United Methodist Church. Scouts were ushers and candle lighters and passed the offering plate during services. Scouts who participated were Bill Berkowitz, Henry Reiske, Tim Barta, Justin Deaver, Cyril Cook, Phil Gilreath, Cameron Hershiser, Tristan Wagner, Will Sharp, Mason McCurdy, Andres Ramos, Dominick Reiske, Todd Roberts, Michael Smith and Steve Wilson. Adults who attended were Mark Reiske, Mike McCurdy, Wayne Deaver, Rod Zinn, Rachel Kaslaitis, David Berkowitz, Nancy Wilson, Glen Sharp, Sue Reiske, Chuck Gilreath, Harry Smith and Tammy Barta.

Cub Scout Pack 3059, chartered to the First Presbyterian Church, had its annual Blue & Gold Banquet on Feb. 22. The following Cubs earned their Arrow of Light Award, the highest award in Cub Scouting: Ryne Bretz, Eli Hodge, Jonathan Gabler, Brendan Golledge, Derek Kappelman, Mark Laskowski, Ryan Marienau, Doug Rawlings, Byron Varberg and John Wagner. Brendan Golledge and Doug Rawlings were bridged into Troop 52. Sam Hird and Adam Meyers bridged into Troop 55, while Jonathan Gabler, Eli Hodge, Derek Kappelman, Ryan Marienau, Alex Schrock, Byron Varberg and John Wagner bridged into Troop 59.

Other boys who graduated from the Pack were Ryne Bretz, Henry Chapman, Mark Laskowski, Nathan Mehl, Matthew Ryan and Cory White. Bruce Wagner was honored for his 10 years of service as an adult leader. He has served as Den leader and Cubmaster.

Boy Scout Troop 53, chartered in 1919 to the First Christian Church, had its 83rd annual chili feed Feb. 9 at the church. The chili feed raised money for the troop’s camping program and equipment.

Cub Scout Pack 3077, chartered to Sunflower School had its annual Pinewood Derby on Jan.11.
