Drew and Kenna Davis, Ozark, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter Shannon Davis to Del Wales, both of Ozark, Mo.

The future bride graduated from high school in 1996 in Ozark, Mo. She is an administrative assistant for an accounting firm.

The future groom is the son of Carl and JoAnn Wales, Perry.

He is a 1993 graduate of Perry High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1997 from Evangel College. He is self-employed in Web Marketing Services. He also works part time for Bank One.

The couple plan a May 17 wedding at James River Assembly in Ozark, Mo.

Wright-Friend

Neil Wright, Lawrence, and Brenda Bowman, Eudora, announce the engagement of their daughter Deneile Wright to John Friend, both of Eudora.

The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Eudora High School. She is employed by Amarr Garage Doors, Lawrence.

The future groom is the son of George and Retha Friend, Eudora. He attended Eudora High School and received a degree in industrial welding in 2001 from Northeast Kansas Technical College. He is employed by Brown Cargo Van, Lawrence.

The couple plan a June 14 wedding at the Clarice L. Osborne Memorial Chapel in Baldwin.

Bruner-Mier

Dr. Steve and Kathy Bruner, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter Jennifer Rebecca Bruner to David Michael Mier, son of Ronald and Mary Mier, Lawrence.

The future bride is a 1994 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1998 from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb. She was a labor and delivery nurse at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for four years. She is employed by Avista Adventist Hospital in Lewisville, Colo., as a labor and delivery nurse.

The future groom is a 1994 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a degree in architectural engineering in 1999 from Kansas University. He was employed by Haris Engineering in Kansas City. He is a structural engineer for JVA Inc. in Boulder, Colo.

The couple plan a June 21 wedding at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence.
