4-H and FCE news

The Meadowlark 4-H Club met Feb. 18 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Members answered roll call by naming their valentine.

Members who participated in the model meeting competition at County Club Days received top purple ribbons. The club will advance to Regional Club Days. It was the second consecutive year the club received a top purple ribbon.

It was announced that Timber Supancic joined the club. The club discussed a trip to Chicago.

Members learned that Cathy Musick is no longer the County 4-H Agent. They also were told that demonstrations can’t be given at the Kansas State Fair this year.

Members helped with cleaning duties after the Lawn, Home & Garden Show on Feb. 23 at the fairgrounds.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. March 11 at the fairgrounds. Members will make tray favors before the meeting. It will be Parents Night. Members who are enrolled in the rocketry project will give the program. The Long and Fox families will be hosts.

Stull FCE will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Joyce Radtke. The lesson will be “Developing Your Own Emotional Intelligence.”
