Alice Wilson Schwegler

Services for Alice Wilson Schwegler, 96, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Schwegler died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born July 6, 1906, in Brainerd, Minn., the daughter of Charles and Anne (Martin) Wilson. She received both education and nursing degrees from the University of Minnesota in 1930.

Mrs. Schwegler was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center and also was involved with Boys and Girls Club, Art in the Park, P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter EA, University Women’s Club and Tennola Club.

She married Raymond A. Schwegler Jr. on July 1, 1935, in Duluth, Minn. He died earlier.

A son, Charles Edward Schwegler, also died earlier.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond A. Schwegler III, Mission Hills, and David W. Schwegler, Leesville, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, and a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
