Break-ins prompt police investigation
Lawrence Police are investigating a bizarre string of break-ins.
Nearly a dozen young women have reported finding a strange man in their apartments in the middle of the night.
6News video: Several women report break-insPolice are now investigating whether the incidents are related. In at least one of the break-ins, a 20-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted by the intruder.
Police said in the other incidents the man just walked into the women’s bedrooms and woke them up.
At least three of the break-ins happened between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Monday.
Incidents were reported from women living in apartments near 11th and Louisiana streets, 26th Street and Crestline Drive and the Jefferson Commons apartment complex.
All the apartments were unlocked.
