Falwell Services

Services for Ethelyn J. Falwell, 91, Lawrence, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta.

Mrs. Falwell died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 13, 1911, in Rock, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Houser) Harp. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1930, and studied organ and piano at Southwestern College, Winfield.

Mrs. Falwell lived in Augusta for 60 years, where she served as a Girl Scout and 4-H leader. She was a member of Augusta Acappella Music Club, Organ Club and First Christian Church.

She married Roy Dean Falwell on June 16, 1934, in Wichita. He died Dec. 3, 1998.

A son, Stephen Michael Falwell, also died earlier.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherrill Catt, Lawrence, and Leigh Anne Pates, Salina; a brother, Marlyn Harp, Winfield; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will meet friends following the service.
