Boys’ lawyers meet with judge about beating

Four boys accused of beating 15-year-old Josh Graves last month are out of juvenile detention — and they are awaiting their next day in court.

Damian Dillon and Chris Fannin, both 14; Marcus Spates, 13, and Bradley Jamierson, 11, were supposed to appear before a judge in a hearing Thursday morning to determine if they should continue to be detained.

After meeting with the boys’ attorneys in her chambers, Douglas County Judge Pro Tem Peggy Kittel rescheduled the hearing. A date for the new hearing has not yet been set.

Dist. Atty. Christine Kenney announced Wednesday that aggravated battery charges were filed against the boys in connection with the May 21 attack in Clinton Park on Graves, who has physical disabilities.
