Krogh Services

Services for Richard Alan Krogh, 54, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:30 p.m. at Warren- McElwain Mortuary to join the procession to the church. Burial will be in Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Va.

Mr. Krogh died Saturday, May 31, 2003, in Lawrence.

He was born March 30, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Harold Christian and Bessie Alberta (Cummins) Krogh. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1967, Kansas University with degrees in political sciences and geography in 1973 and Washburn Law School in 1987.

Mr. Krogh served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1969 and earned the rank of captain. He opened a private law practice in 1987 and was a child support enforcement attorney for Kansas State Revenue Service until 2001.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lions Club, Boy Scouts of America, and Douglas County, Kansas and American Bar Assns. He was awarded Combat Aircrew Wings with three battle stars, three Air Medals, a Navy Achievement Medal, a Navy Unit Commendation, a Meritorious Unit Citation, a National Defense Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal with four battle stars, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, a Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and a Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He married Christina Lynn Hayes on Sept. 4, 1976, in Catonsville, Md. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Michael Steven, Korea, and Douglas Alan, of the home.

A daughter, Elizabeth Bond Krogh, died earlier.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church Youth Group, sent in care of the mortuary.
