Ruth Reid Roberts
Services for Ruth Reid Roberts, 91, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Private burial will be at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Roberts died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
She was born April 8, 1912, in Wellsville, the daughter of Cleve and Kate (McDowell) Breckenridge. She graduated from high school in Smithville, Mo., and attended Central College in Fayette, Mo.
Mrs. Roberts and her husband were pastors at churches in Atchison; Ottumwa, Iowa; Lawrence; and Paris, Mo. She was a member of First Christian Church, Atchison.
She married Harold Roberts on April 4, 1929, in Olathe. He died Oct. 19, 1990.
Survivors include two sons, Dean Roberts, Brentwood, Tenn., and David Roberts, Lawrence; a daughter, Jeanette Roberts, Lawrence; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, Harold Roberts Jr., died earlier.
The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Humane Society or First Christian Church of Atchison, sent in care of the mortuary.
