Renegades drop
LEXINGTON, KY. ? Lawrence’s Renegades dropped two games in the USSSA 18-and-under World Series Wednesday.
The Renegades, who dropped a pair of one-run games — 5-4 to Detroit’s A. Green and 4-3 to the Fairfield, Ohio, Chiefs — are 0-3 in the tourney and fell into the consolation bracket.
“We took second last year and won silver medals. We had a goal, of course, to get back to the championship game, so this is extremely hard to swallow,” coach Lynn Harrod said.
Tom Bush had a bases-loaded double, and Courtney Hutchison was 3-for-3 against Detroit Green. Bush had an RBI triple, while Devon Myers doubled against Fairfield.
The Renegades take a 25-14 record into today’s game. Opponent and game time are yet to be determined.
