The future bride is the daughter of Rod and Karen Miller, Plano, Texas. She graduated in 1993 from Plano Senior High School and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1997 from Baylor University. She is an elementary school teacher in Plano.

The future groom graduated in 1993 from Lawrence High School and received a bachelor’s degree in architecture in 1998 from Kansas University. He is an architect at Corgan Associates in Dallas.

The couple plan an Oct. 17 wedding in Dallas.

Alan and Jan Brummell, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Elizabeth, to Travis James Turner, son of Roy and Mary Turner, Holyrood.

The future bride graduated from Lawrence High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in hearing and speech from Kansas University and a master’s degree in audiology from KU. She is an audiologist in a private practice in Topeka and plans to pursue a doctorate at KU.

The future groom graduated from Quivera Heights High School and attended KU. He is a retail account representative for Coca-Cola Enterprises in Lenexa.

The couple plan a Sept. 27 wedding at Central United Methodist Church.

Briana Kems and Nathan Walts

Craig and Tammy Davis, Ottawa, and Virginia Kems, Ottawa, announce the engagement of their daughter Briana Kems, Ottawa, to Nathan Walts, Lawrence.

The future bride graduated in May from Kansas University. She will start graduate school this fall at Baker University. She works at Daimler Chrysler Financial.

The future groom is the son of Paula Walts, Olathe, and Michael and Mary Walts, Great Bend. He graduated in 2001 from KU and is pursuing a master’s degree at Baker. He works at Daimler Chrysler Financial.

The couple plan a Sept. 13 wedding at South Park.
