Patrick McKinney

? Services for Dr. Patrick McKinney, 41, Albuquerque, N.M., will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Shawnee.

A memorial service also is planned at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 5 at the University of New Mexico Alumni Chapel, Albuquerque.

Dr. McKinney died Sunday, July 20, 2003, in Albuquerque, N.M., in a biking accident.

He was born Jan. 14, 1962, in Colorado Springs, Colo., the son of Dr. James and Lois (Imm) McKinney. He was a graduate of Kansas University school of medicine, a resident at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., and a fellow in toxicology at the Rocky Mountain Poison Center, Denver.

Dr. McKinney was the medical director of New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center and an associate professor in the department of emergency medicine and college of pharmacy at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. He also lectured both nationally and internationally and published work in his field. He received the National Teaching Excellence Award from American College of Emergency Medicine.

He married Lisa McKinney in 1984. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Samuel and Noah, both of the home; his mother, Lenexa; two brothers, Michael, Lawrence, and Kevin, Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Colleen McKinney, New York City, and Holly McKinney, Missoula, Mont.
