Interfaith worship service begins first of dedication’s major events
Major events for the Dole Institute of Politics dedication begin today. Here’s a look at the highlights:
- Interfaith worship service at 10 a.m.
The Lied Center opens to ticket-holders at 9 a.m. Any available seating at the center will open at 9:40 a.m., and the event will be shown on a two-story video screen nearby.
- Dance from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. featuring the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Lawrence Holidome, 200 McDonald Drive. The dance is sold out, but an alternate dance with the Jazzhaus Big Band begins at 7 p.m., American Legion Post No. 14, 1308 W. Sixth St.
Several ongoing events also begin today, including:
- Airplane display from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport.
- The “Memory Tent,” with veterans telling war stories, from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., west campus.
