To the editor:

This letter is concerning the Fourth of July free camera offer. The picture on the front page of the July 14 Journal-World shows Adam Meyers, 11, holding a lighted firecracker. Don’t you think you could have chosen a more appropriate picture celebrating the Fourth of July? Aren’t we told not to hold a lighted firecracker in our hand for fear it might explode? Many warnings of this kind explain the dangers of holding lighted firecrackers. What does this picture tell? Every picture that is published anywhere tells a story. Show us a better picture tomorrow. Thanks.

Jan Gentry,
