Spencer Museum film series honors director

The Spencer Museum of Art will continue its summer film series on three consecutive Thursdays — July 17, 24 and 31 — paying homage to director Douglas Sirk.

On July 17 and 24, the museum will screen Sirk’s films “All That Heaven Allows” and “Imitation of Life” respectively, both of which provided the inspiration for Todd Haynes’ Oscar-nominated 2002 film “Far From Heaven,” which the museum will screen on July 31.

All movies screen at 7 p.m., and admission is free. For more information, call the museum at 864-7500.
