Ira L. ‘Nicky’ Collins

Mr. Collins died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 30, 1943, in Salinas, Calif., the son of Russell and Juanita M. (Griffen) Collins.

Mr. Collins worked as a drywaller for many years. He retired in 1996.

He married Norma C. Place on Feb. 21, 1961. She died March 21, 1993.

Survivors include four sons, Wade, Phillip, James and Charles, all of Lawrence; three daughters, Lisa Collins and Julie Collins, both of Lawrence, and Tracy Collins, Dover; two sisters, Joyce A. Crenshaw, Lawrence, and Betty A. Reid, De Soto; and seven grandchildren.
