Neva Rose Cook

? Services for Neva Rose Cook, 84, Meriden, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Meriden Community Church. Burial will be at Meriden Cemetery.

Mrs. Cook died Monday, July 7, 2003, at a Meriden care home.

She was born Sept. 18, 1918, in rural Ozawkie, the daughter of John Allen and Nora Naomi (Quiett) Puderbaugh. She graduated from Ozawkie High School. She was a lifelong resident of the Ozawkie and Meriden area.

Mrs. Cook taught in one-room schools for many years. Later, she was a librarian for Meriden Community Library for 31 years. She was a member of Meriden Community Church and Jolly Stitchers Club.

She married Eugene Glenn Cook on Aug. 28, 1939, in Oskaloosa. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, William A. Cook, Meriden, and Larry D. Cook, Walnut, Iowa; two daughters, Linda Rice, Ozawkie, and Dorma Gottlieb, Miami; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

An infant daughter, Jere Lee Cook, died earlier.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Barnett’s Meriden Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
