Fans sought for hot-weather days

Agency: Salvation Army

Address: 946 N.H.

Contact number: 843-4188

The Salvation Army will collect fans from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at both Lawrence Hy-Vee Food Store locations. Staff from 6News will assist with collections and give donors root beer floats. Fans may also be dropped off anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army. Fans do not need to be new. The organization will redistribute the fans beginning July 14 to people who do not have air conditioning. The fans can be a great relief to those in need during the summer and last year helped about 60 people ease the heat.
