Marvin L. ‘Fuzz’ Foster

? Services for Marvin L. “Fuzz” Foster, 77, Meriden, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Barnett’s Meriden Funeral Chapel. Cremation is planned, with private family inurnment scheduled at a later date.

Mr. Foster died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at the Hickory Pointe Care Home in Oskaloosa.

He was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Ozawkie, the son of Earl F. and Mabel (Johnson) Foster.

He was a graduate of Topeka High School and a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946 aboard the U.S.S. Makin Island. He worked as an inspector for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber plant in Topeka for 38 years, retiring in 1988.

Mr. Foster was a member of the American Legion Post No. 225 in Ozawkie, the Goodyear Rubber Workers Union Local No. 307 and the Men’s Club of Village Greens Golf Course in Ozawkie.

He married Marvel Johnson on July 12, 1954. He married Mildred Sayler Sanborn on Jan. 26, 1988, in Las Vegas. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Jeff, Ozawkie, and Steven, Topeka; two daughters, Suzy Turpin, Topeka, and Stacey Erdman, Meriden; a brother, C.D., Topeka; a sister, Greeta Reeves, Topeka; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A son, Randy, died Nov. 1, 2001.

Friends may call after noon Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will meet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
