Drizzle expected Tuesday afternoon

If you washed your car Monday, you might be a little frustrated today, according to a local forecaster.

“High humidity levels have left dew on all the cars and the roadways this morning. Plus the chance for drizzle on the way home could add a few spots to the hood,” said Matt Makens, 6News meteorologist.

Makens said Tuesday’s skies will be as murky and gray as the mix of salt and sand on city streets.

“We’ll hit 50 at noon. And then the wind will change. Winds coming from the north will bring temperatures down through the afternoon into the mid 40s,” he said.

He predicted a light drizzle will fall on the Lawrence area from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

After the drizzle ends, Tuesday night’s skies will stay cloudy with the overnight low dropping to 24 degrees.

The clouds will continue Wednesday, he said.

“There could be a snowflake or two early in the morning. Otherwise, it will be dry and cooler with 37 for the high,” he said.

Skies will clear Thursday morning, starting with a low of 20, warming up to 40 by Thursday afternoon.

Clouds rolls in Thursday night into Friday morning, with snow flurries and a low of 26 degrees. Friday’s high will be 45..

“Saturday — beautiful,” he said.

Temperatures will be 27 in the morning and 55 in the afternoon, he said.
