Dorothy Lea Dotson

? Services for Dorothy Lea Dotson, 87, Emporia, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Emporia.

Mrs. Dotson died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at Vintage Manor in Emporia.

She was born Oct. 27, 1915, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Frank Lathrop and Evelyn Dorothy (Miller) Bruner. She received a bachelor’s degree in education in 1963 and a master’s degree in 1974, both from Emporia State University.

Mrs. Dotson was a substitute teacher for United School District 253, a home economics teacher at Emporia State and a homemaker. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Emporia Social Service Club, Emporia Garden Club and Iris Society of America.

She married William Francis Dotson on Dec. 21, 1935, in Wichita. He died Oct. 30, 1994.

Survivors include a son, William David Dotson, Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters, Denise Low-Weso, Lawrence, Mary Marchetti, Laguna Hills, Calif., and Jane Ciabattari, New York; a brother, Robert Bruner, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and six grandchildren.

Two grandchildren died earlier.
